Bacchanal Run: DJ-driven revelry takes to the streets

Hundreds “touch de road” for the annual Bacchanal Run (Photograph by Blaire Simmons)

Music and colour poured on to the island’s streets over the weekend as the Bacchanal Run closed out the Cup Match holiday.

The popular event, launched in 2016, set out on Saturday.

Roads in Devonshire and Pembroke were taken over by soca and reggae DJs with hundreds of participants brightening the celebration with plenty of paint powder.

The annual parade under the theme of “touch de road” brought out visitors in droves as well as residents for a finale to the weekend’s festivities.
