AC failure hits Earl Cameron Theatre

An inoperable air conditioning unit has led to the cancellation of all upcoming events scheduled for the Earl Cameron Theatre at City Hall, a spokeswoman said yesterday.

The unit suffered an unexpected failure earlier this month.

“We are currently awaiting replacement parts, which are not anticipated to arrive on-island until December,” the spokeswoman said.

“This unfortunate situation was unforeseen, and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to our valued clients,” she added.

The corporation’s city venue and rentals co-ordinator has reached out to all clients with bookings scheduled for 2024.

“We can confirm that this issue is isolated to the theatre; the art galleries and other offices within City Hall remain fully operational and unaffected,” the spokeswoman said.

“We appreciate the public’s understanding and patience as we work to resolve the matter to ensure the comfort, health and safety of all theatregoers and clients,” she added.
