A life-size sculpture of a fictional stormtrooper inspired by the George Lucas film series Star Wars is on guard at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club.

The artwork, which can be seen in the lobby of the hotel, was designed by artist Daniel Arsham, using minerals such as selenite, blue calcite and hydrostone.

A spokeswoman for the hotel said: “Arsham’s collaboration with Star Wars debuted at his exhibitions at Perrotin Galleries in New York and Paris in 2023.

“The Stormtrooper was a part of a series of the Star Wars pop culture icons, including C-3PO and R2-D2.”

The Hamilton Princess’s art collection includes several other works by Mr Arsham, such as Bronze Eroded Astronaut, mounted in June in the hotel’s front garden, and Large Wrapped Animal (Blue), placed in the hotel’s retail arcade in 2023.
