A food festival highlighting the skills of Bermudian culinary artists and the island’s “vibrant culinary scene” will result in the partial closure of roads in the city.

The four-day “Taste of Bermuda 2024” event, organised by the Corporation of Hamilton, will begin on October 17.

A City of Hamilton spokeswoman said: “Among the featured events, guests will have the chance to sample delectable dishes from two of Bermuda’s culinary masters at Cambridge Beaches, witness skilled bartenders and mixologists in a beverage showcase hosted by Bacardi International, be a part of a formal dining experience at the City Hall All White Ball, and spoil their taste buds at the Tasting Village: Festival of Flavours.”

She advised that Church Street between Queen and Washington Streets will be reduced to one lane from 2pm on October 19. Both lanes will be fully closed from 5pm that day until 6pm on October 20.

City Hall car park will be closed from 6am on October 19 until 6am on October 21. No parking will be available during this time.

The spokeswoman also said that businesses should place out their trash for collection no later than 4pm on October 19. There will be no trash collection on October 20 and regular trash collection will resume on October 21.

The Church Street taxi stand will be temporarily relocated to Wesley Street on October 19 and 20, while further traffic notices will be provided closer to the event dates.

The spokeswoman said: “The City of Hamilton extends its gratitude to local businesses for their co-operation in helping to make Taste of Bermuda a success.

“We invite everyone to join us in celebrating this highly anticipated annual event, which showcases Bermuda’s rich culinary heritage and creates a truly unforgettable experience.”
