A recruitment campaign was launched to connect skilled workers with non-profit organisations.

The Non-profit Alliance of Bermuda announced the Non-profit Board of Directors Recruitment Drive to help build the staff of significant charitable groups.

Nicola Paugh, the alliance’s executive director, said: “Non-profit boards are crucial in shaping the direction and ensuring the sustainability of organisations that are key to our island’s social fabric.

“This initiative provides an opportunity for individuals to leverage their skills and give back to their community in a deeply impactful way.”

A spokeswoman for the Non-profit Alliance of Bermuda said that non-profit organisations helped address social and economic problems but struggled to recruit a diverse group of board members.

Anyone interested can register with the Non-Profit Alliance of Bermuda as a “skilled volunteer” on its website and share their interests and skills.

Participants will receive a registration code for free training to make sure people who have registered understand the essentials of non-profit governance.

Training will take place virtually on January 22, 23 and 29 from 10am to 11.30am

Those who have been trained will receive a list of non-profit board vacancies that prospective workers can sign up for.

The deadline to register is November 1.

You must be Registered or to post comment or to vote.
