Water collected in buckets and bins had to be used at the Co-Ed facility to wash and flush toilets after supplies were disrupted.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Public Works said that the Department of Public Lands and Buildings received a report of a water outage on Monday.

He added: “Upon investigation, a broken suction line was discovered and had to be repaired. The ministry apologises for the inconvenience the water disruption caused.

“The ministry received notice of the outage at around 8am on Monday and water was restored at around 5pm, Monday.

“However, the water was intermittent throughout Tuesday and was unable to be restored on Tuesday night.

“Water collected previously using buckets and bins was used overnight for flushing and washing.”

He said “extensive repairs” were expected to be completed by this afternoon.

The spokesman added: “Other redundancy works are also progressing to give us options for a back up supply moving forward.”
