The environment department reminded fishermen that the deadline for the submission of fishing statistics is tomorrow.

A notice in The Official Gazette said: “The owner or operator of every licensed fishing vessel is reminded of the obligation to keep a daily log of catch and effort statistics relating to the operation of that licensed fishing vessel, and to make returns of the catch and effort statistics to the Director of Environment and Natural Resources on the fisheries statistics Form 3 or online at shellcatch.com [new online site].

“The deadline for the receipt of catch and effort statistics for the second quarter of 2024 was on July 31, 2024.

“Vessel owners and operators are now advised that the deadline for the receipt of catch and effort statistics for the third quarter of 2024 [July 1 to September 30, 2024] is October 31, 2024.

“Statistics should be submitted to the Licensing Office of the DENR located in the Botanical Gardens, Paget, to the DENR Marine Resources Section Office located on Coney Island, St George’s, or online at shellcatch.com.”
