The Ministry of Public Works has called on the public to do their part as they work to clear overgrown vegetation to keep roadways clear.

Lieutenant-Colonel David Burch, the Minister of Public Works, said that crews with the Department of Works and Engineering have been working hard to manage roadside vegetation across the island and clear sight lines for motorists.

“Our teams are dedicated to maintaining and improving our roadways by trimming overgrown trees and vegetation,” Colonel Burch said.

“We understand the importance of safe and accessible roads for our community and are committed to ongoing maintenance efforts.”

However, the Minister said community involvement was essential, urging the public to maintain vegetation on their properties and ensure overhanging branches and foliage do not impede roadways or sidewalks.

Colonel Burch added: “This collective effort will enhance the safety and appearance of our communities and ensure that our roads remain safe and accessible for everyone.”
