More than 80 members of a finance company took a break from their desks to spend a day helping seniors last week.

The volunteer work by Artex Capital Solutions was part of an annual Day of Giving by the company on Friday.

Employees visited four rest homes across the island — Summerhaven, Lorraine Rest Home, Packwood, and Westmeath — where they carried out chores such as window-cleaning, landscaping and yard work. They also socialised with residents.

A spokeswoman for the company said: "Artex takes great pride in being an integral part of the Bermuda community, where our employees live and work.

“During Artex's annual Day of Giving we had the privilege of visiting four local care and rest homes to give back to the Bermuda community.

“This initiative is a testament to our commitment to supporting and addressing the growing needs of the ageing population.”
