Maintenance work on a pump station on Front Street next month will affect car parking spaces, the City of Hamilton said.

The project involves the replacement of ageing pipes at the pump station opposite Supermart.

It will affect about six spaces at the Number 8 car park and a few bike spaces in the vicinity.

The City said a temporary exit gate has been installed at the site to ensure smooth traffic flow and to minimise disruption to users.

It is to become operational at the start of the project, which is expected to finish by mid-February

The works have been planned to minimise inconvenience to the public as much as possible, the City said.

It added: “This essential maintenance will ensure the continued reliability of the City’s wastewater system while addressing any service concerns, elongating the service life of this asset.

“The City appreciates the public’s understanding and co-operation during this necessary project.”
