Tax Reform Commission to highlight work at town hall
Residents have been urged to attend a town hall meeting designed to inform people about the work of the Bermuda Tax Reform Commission.
The commission was established this year to review the domestic tax framework in light of the corporate income tax, which will come into effect next year.
It said the town hall will be held “to inform and engage Bermuda residents about the commission’s mission, activities and the important role it plays in providing recommendations that can impact the future of our community”.
The commission added: “This interactive event provides an opportunity for attendees to learn more about the commission’s work, provide input and ask questions directly.
“The town hall meeting is open to all members of the public who want to stay informed and participate in discussions about the future of taxation in Bermuda.”
Darren Johnston, the tax reform commission chairman, added: “We encourage all Bermuda residents to attend this important event.
“This is your chance to gain insight into the commission’s work and have your questions answered.
“Your voice matters in shaping a fair and sustainable tax system for our island.”
The event is tomorrow, Tuesday December 17, from 6pm to 8pm at the St Paul African Methodist Episcopal Centennial Church Hall, Court Street, in Hamilton.
