Joy to the world! Tynes Bay gets festive touch

Cast-off Christmas decorations got a new lease on life this December as Department of Works and Engineering staff got in the yuletide mood at the Tynes Bay Incinerator.

The decorated entrance to the waste management drop-off area in Devonshire has proved a hit with the public.

Workers salvaged tinsel garlands, lights, wreaths and Christmas figures to deck the entry to the facility.

The show of Christmas cheer has been well received and shared on social media.
