Children’s donation to family charity aims to inspire kindness
A gift from two children who hoped to inspire kindness in others was welcomed by a charity dedicated to improving the lives of families.
Pippa Weare, 8, and Arthur Weare, 5, donated stockings stuffed with presents for Family Centre to use in its community programmes.
The programmes were designed to develop confidence in children and create access to services that help them to thrive, while supporting them to overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.
Julie Gorham, Pippa and Arthur’s mother, said: “When you do one good thing, it can inspire other people to want to do something good.”
Deneca Zuill, a community team leader at Family Centre, said the children were “true examples of everyday leaders”.
She added: “We encourage our young people in Family Centre’s community programmes to practise leadership, which is defined by action, not position.
“It is so heart-warming to see everyday leadership demonstrated by children in our community.
“May their kindness inspire us all to find small ways to uplift each other and spread joy this holiday season.”
Leila Wadson, the director of community services for the charity, said: “On behalf of the families and children in our community programmes, Family Centre extends heartfelt gratitude to Pippa and Arthur for their kindness.
“Knowing the joy that stockings bring on Christmas morning, Pippa and Arthur thoughtfully filled them with gifts to share that same happiness.”
