Senior injured by downed utility line in Hamilton Parish

A man believed to be in his seventies was injured by a downed utility line in Hamilton Parish.

Traffic was diverted on Friday morning in the area of Shelly Bay MarketPlace.

A spokeswoman for the Bermuda Police Service said: “A man believed to be in his seventies has sustained injuries as a result and is being treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

“The extent of his injuries are unknown to police. However, the man was conscious and responding to emergency personnel at the scene.”

Police diverted traffic through Radnor Road while Belco crews worked.

The BPS said at about 8.05am that the road was clear and reopened for normal traffic flow.
