Testing limits: the personal development programme is open for scholarship hopefuls (Image supplied)

Young people can develop their life skills and contribute towards sustainability during a ten-week expedition.

Raleigh Bermuda encouraged Bermudians aged 17 to 24 to register for the organisation’s Venturers Scholarship programme.

Previous participants, who each received $12,000 in scholarship money last year, spearheaded several infrastructure projects in Costa Rica and South Africa.

The charity explained: “This immersive programme is designed to develop your character, build your outdoor survival skills, boost your confidence and empower you to tackle real-world challenges through sustainable development projects.

“You’ll gain essential skills in teamwork, communication and planning, all while exploring your potential pushing yourself beyond your limits and making lasting memories and friendships.”

Registration for the scholarship opened yesterday and will close on January 31, with applicants to be interviewed and notified of acceptance next month.

People can apply through an online form or visit raleigh.bm, and can contact programme co-ordinator Keri Pacheco at 333-5678 or keri@raleigh.bm to learn more.
