The Bermuda Post Office unveiled a commemorative stamp to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Bermuda’s only college.
The stamp features the clock tower above the Bermuda College library and is in circulation.
Crystal Caesar, the Acting Minister of Education, said: “The Bermuda College offers a variety of academic, technical and professional programmes and courses.
“In celebration of the Bermuda College’s remarkable 50th anniversary, I commend this institution’s dedication to education and community enrichment.
“In recognition of this milestone occasion, I encourage the public to embrace this piece of history by purchasing the Bermuda College 50th Anniversary Commemorative Stamp Series.
“We are appreciative of the Bermuda College’s place in our community and its legacy will be one that has provided opportunity and growth for countless individuals.”
The Bermuda College was created by the Bermuda College Act 1974 and united the Bermuda Hotel and Catering College, the Bermuda Technical Institute and the Academic Sixth Form Centre.
It spans across 26 acres and boasts 39 full-time lecturers and 1,000 students.
The Bermuda College crest features its antecedent institutions and is still used as the institution’s official seal.
The stamps can be bought at the Bermuda Post Office or any sub-post office.
