Cohort completes non-profit management training
A cohort of 11 professionals has graduated from a nine-month course on key management issues confronting non-profits.
The graduates earned an accredited non-profit management certificate from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Sandra Christensen, Caitlin Conyers, Angelika Davis, Fiona Dill, Nickell Durham, Chrystal-Lynn El, Yulanda Francis, Ashleigh Holland, Stephanie Lee, Natalie Millar and Françoise Palau-Wolfe completed the programme, sponsored by the Bermuda Foundation, with support from the Nonprofit Alliance.
They also heard personal development modules led by Latisha Lister-Burgess, executive director of EAP Bermuda, and Aria Bean.
Myra Virgil congratulated the graduates on behalf of the Bermuda Foundation.
Dr Virgil said it was important to boost the numbers of “professionals who have the capacities to do the tough work of managing a non-profit — while pursuing social mission”.
Nicola Paugh, the executive director of the Nonprofit Alliance, said: “This programme is a key to our vision of building a strong and sustainable non-profit workforce pipeline in Bermuda.”
She encouraged non-profit leaders to consider people from their teams with potential for leadership training.
The charity said the training followed a cohort model for participants to collaborate and discuss course materials while making the programme affordable.
It said enrolment for the 2025 cohort had opened, with the application form online at www.surveymonkey.com/r/YLTLSVY
The deadline for applications is February 14.
