Belco’s kite safety poster contest takes flight again
Belco is again calling on students to help spread the word about kite safety with its annual poster competition before Good Friday.
The Kite Safety Poster competition is open to Primary 1 and 2 students, with submissions due before April 11, with a host of prizes available for the best entries.
Krista Barnes, Belco director of communications and sustainability, said: “This is our 36th year of the Belco kite safety campaign and poster competition and I encourage students to enter for the chance to win great prizes.
“Kite safety is very important and by participating in the competition students learn the important lessons on kite safety while having fun creating a piece of artwork.
“We look forward to receiving the creative and colourful posters every year which are displayed in our lobby and bring great joy to our staff and customers.”
Prizes will be awarded for a number of categories including best poster, best kite safety message, most beautiful, most original and best use of mixed media.
Award winners will earn both toy vouchers and Belco gift cards.
All submissions must be hand-drawn on 8½in by 11in paper and either be photographed or scanned and e-mailed to communications@belco.bm or delivered to Belco at 27 Serpentine Road, Pembroke.
Submissions must include the child’s name, school and year group on the back of the entry.
In addition, submissions must be accompanied by signed parental or guardian consent which can be found on the Belco website, www.belco.bm.
