Arts workshop series to tackle parade floats this month
A series of workshops intended to inspire creative design, including a session on how to construct parade floats, will return this month.
Creatives Culture Lab workshops are set to take place at the MakerSpace at CedarBridge Academy with sessions on therapeutic art expression, book publishing and more.
A Department of Culture spokeswoman highlighted a session this Sunday, led by Chris Naylor, covering float building and decorating, as well as information about taking part in the Bermuda Day Parade.
She added: “Attendees will learn essential techniques, from structural design to painting and decorating, ensuring they are well equipped to bring their ideas to life.
“Representatives from the Department of Culture will be on hand to guide participants through the various categories of the Bermuda Day Parade, encouraging businesses, groups and individuals to get involved.
“Whether you’re looking to build a showstopping float, enter a decorated truck, or participate in a walking group, this session will offer all the information needed to take part in one of Bermuda’s most beloved cultural traditions.”
The Creatives Culture Labs 2025 series will also include a session on therapeutic art expression on March 14, book publishing on March 15, a workshop on the design website Canva on March 17, and a creative entrepreneur panel discussion on March 29.
