Shoppers who called in on appliance store Bate’s in Devonshire got more than they bargained for yesterday.
Personal chef TeAnn Hassell had fired up one of showroom’s cookers and prepared stacks of pancakes for customers.
Ms Hassell, who runs her own catering company, selected her menu to mark Shrove Tuesday — otherwise known as Pancake Day.
She said: “It was a great turnout — I cooked close to 200 pancakes.”
Ms Hassell said that she was not a pancake expert, but used her father’s recipe.
“My dad always made us pancakes when we were growing up,” she added.
