The Bermuda Red Cross thrift shop is offering special discounts this week as part of its fourteenth anniversary celebrations.

Festive decorations brightened the shop at Berry Hill, Paget this week and on Tuesday, customers were treated to coffee, tea, and cookies as part of the celebrations.

Maria Duffy, shop manager, said: “We are so grateful to our loyal customers and donors who have supported us over the past 14 years.

“This shop is more than just a place to find great bargains — it’s a community effort that helps people in need across Bermuda.

“We look forward to celebrating with everyone and continuing to make a difference.”

Ann Spencer-Arscott, executive director of the Bermuda Red Cross, said: “Who knew when the decision to start up a thrift shop would have been so successful for us and still helping others in need?

“Maria and her team of volunteers are the lifeline of this service and we wouldn’t still be operating without them.

“Maria knows her customers well and has a great eye for fashion. A big thank you goes to the team.”

The shop has been a vital resource for the community, offering affordable clothing and accessories while providing free clothing to those in need through partnerships with helping agencies.

This week’s occasion is part of the 75th anniversary of the Red Cross serving the community.

The Red Cross said that, as it reflected on its legacy of care and compassion, businesses were invited to join its corporate clothing collection programme.

Companies can support the thrift shop by organising clothing drives and encouraging their teams to donate gently used items.
