David Burt is to deliver remarks at a leading forum for innovation, technology and global business.

The Premier will take part in a fireside chat hosted by Alison Snyder, the managing editor of American news site Axiosat, at the South by Southwest Conference in Austin, Texas.

Mr Burt’s presentation is entitled “Bermuda’s Journey: A Leader in Digital Finance”, which outlines the island’s regulatory framework, legislative approach and industry collaboration.

“Bermuda continues to make strides as a leading jurisdiction for digital finance,” Mr Burt said.

“The Government continues to work diligently to position Bermuda as a trusted name in this space due to the regulatory expertise and clarity we provide.

“This work has successfully attracted industry leaders like Circle, Coinbase and Kraken to our shores, creating jobs and ensuring that Bermuda remains at the forefront of digital finance innovation.

“Events like SXSW allow us to continue to tell our story to an international audience, and to engage with business leaders, policymakers and innovators.

“This engagement is key to maintaining Bermuda’s competitive edge, attracting further investment and expanding economic opportunities for Bermudians.”

Mr Burt is due to return to Bermuda on Tuesday. In his absence, Kim Wilson, the Minister of Health, will be Acting Premier and Minister of Finance.
