A series of events aimed at enhancing Bermuda’s summer camp experiences are planned for this month.

A spokeswoman for the Department of Sport and Recreation said the initiatives will provide valuable information, resources and networking opportunities for camp operators ahead of the 2025 season.

The Camp Connect Information Session on March 13 will offer insights into the benefits of the Government’s Camp Connect programme and clarify processes. The session will be held online via Webex at 12:30pm, 4pm and 6pm.

The department is also inviting vendors who offer services to operators to participate in the Vendors’ Market on March 22 from 2pm at the Bermuda College. It will provide a platform for vendors to showcase their offerings.

The Day Camp Conference will be hosted at the college on the same day from 8.30am featuring workshops on topics such as working with children with autism, conflict management and water safety.

Owen Darrell, the Minister of Tourism, Transport, Culture and Sport, said: “These initiatives reflect our commitment to ensuring Bermuda’s children have access to enriching and well-structured summer camp experiences.

“By equipping camp operators with the necessary resources and training, we are investing in the future of our youth. I encourage all camp facilitators and service providers to take advantage of these opportunities.”
