An animated promotional video has been launched to attract further interest in a free digital skills education programme.

The creation by island artist Tashel Bean highlights opportunities available through Bermuda Coders.

“It showcases the opportunity for Bermudians to gain cutting-edge skills in artificial intelligence, data analysis, Android app development and programming — all for free,” the Government said.

Bermuda Coders was made possible through a partnership between the Bermuda Government and the United Arab Emirates via its Government Experience Exchange Office.

Jason Hayward, the Minister of Economy and Labour, said: “This initiative is about equipping our people with the skills they need to thrive in a digital world.

"We want to ensure that everyone knows about the amazing opportunities Bermuda Coders offers, and this engaging animated video is a great way to spread the word and inspire more people to sign up.“

The Government explained that Bermuda Coders is committed to “fostering local tech talent and providing pathways to success in an evolving digital landscape”.

It added: “Whether individuals are new to AI, data analysis or programming or are looking to advance their expertise, this programme offers a unique chance to learn, grow and connect with a thriving community.

“The programme has attracted hundreds of registrants, with dozens having already completed tracks in AI, data analysis, programming and app development.

“Each track takes eight weeks to complete, and unsuccessful attempts cannot be retaken.

“Participants are advised to complete one track before registering for another to maximise their chance of success.”

The promotional video is available on the CITV Bermuda YouTube page.
