The family of a 57-year-old man who has been missing since last month have joined police in pleading for the public’s help in finding him.

Michael Miranda was last seen at about midday on March 28 near the Salvation Army facility on North Street, Pembroke.

He was described as being 5ft 5in tall, slim, with a light complexion, blue eyes and long brown hair with facial hair. He was last seen wearing a green camouflage jacket, blue track pants and black boots.

His stepdaughter, Korin Henderson, joined police in the call for the community’s assistance.

“Mike, if you’re listening, please come forward. I just want you to know that we love you and we want the right help for you,” she said.

“Anybody who is listening, please just look out. We are out every night searching. If anybody can help, I just want him found.”

Mr Miranda is known to frequent the Shelly Bay Beach area as far east as My Lord’s Bay Road in Hamilton Parish, where police have been searching.

Police and family members have invited the public to join them when they set out again tomorrow at about 9.30am.

Residents were asked to keep a lookout and to check their yards, sheds and garages as well as boats and abandoned vehicles.

“Often times, people will seek refuge in those types of places,” Mr Trott explained.

Mr Miranda also went missing on March 26 and was found by police, but went missing again two days later. His family said they did not report him missing the second time until last Friday.

Detective Inspector Kenten Trott, of the vulnerable persons unit, said posters were now being put up around the community.

“We would like to have Mr Miranda found safe and well,” he added.

“The most important thing is that we find Mr Miranda. Some of you might know him from his previous employment. If you do see him, try to talk to him and see if you can contact us as quickly as possible so he can be reunited with his family.”

Anyone who sees Mr Miranda is asked to contact police at 211 or, in the event of an emergency, 911.
