Grammy-winning musician Ashanti announced that she filmed her upcoming music video in Bermuda during an appearance on a hit television show.

After she performed on American Idol, the singer and actor said that she had recorded a music video for her next single on the island.

“I am so excited,” she said. “The video is called Called You Up. I shot the video in Bermuda.

“It’s amazing and I can’t wait for you guys to see it.”

No other details were given about the video or when it would be released, but it is understood that local production company Burnt House Productions was involved in the project.

Ashanti earlier mentioned the shoot in an interview with Entertainment Tonight, when she described the video as “so, so dope” and said it was hoped that it would be released in April to coincide with the start of her European tour.

Ashanti is no stranger to Bermuda, having visited the island in 2023, when she joined in the Carnival in Bermuda festivities.
