Police renew appeal for witnesses to St David’s crash

Police again appealed for witnesses to a two-vehicle crash in St David’s that resulted in the death of a 40-year-old man.

Lionel Thomas II became the second road fatality of the year after a collision on St David’s Road, east of the Southside Police Station, at about 1.30am on February 23.

The driver of the second vehicle, a van, was not injured in the incident.

Mr Thomas was transported by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries soon after.

The Bermuda Police Service said its officers are particularly interested in speaking to residents of the Harbour View condominium complex — which is close to the crash scene — who may have information about the incident, no matter how insignificant the details might seem.

Anyone with information was asked to contact the roads policing unit on 247-1788.

Witnesses can also call 211 or provide the information by using the community reporting portal at portal.police.bm.
