Government to highlight careers in uniform

The Ministry of National Security is to showcase opportunities available to young Bermudians in the uniformed services tomorrow.

Between 6pm and 8pm at Francis Patton Primary School, the ministry will host its third and final public information session about career paths in the Bermuda Police Service, the Customs Department, the Royal Bermuda Regiment, the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service and the Department of Corrections.

Michael Weeks, the Minister of National Security, said: “We are calling on young people — particularly those about to graduate from secondary school or who have recently returned from university — to consider a future in the uniformed services seriously.

“Many young Bermudians may not be fully aware of the incredible opportunities in these sectors.

“This session is a final, crucial chance to learn more, ask questions and take that first step towards a meaningful and impactful career.

“Each of these services plays a vital role in the safety and wellbeing of our community. We need the next generation of dedicated, passionate and committed individuals to step up and serve.”

Mr Weeks urged young Bermudians to attend and hear first-hand about career paths available.
