Seniors enjoy tea and entertainment at PLP party
Scores of seniors in three Pembroke constituencies enjoyed afternoon tea on Saturday, thanks to the Progressive Labour Party.
About 85 seniors who live in Pembroke Central, Pembroke West Central and Pembroke West were treated to an afternoon of entertainment, including a magic show, music and dancing.
Activities included bingo, a fancy hat competition, raffle prizes and a special prize for the oldest senior.
Area MPs Jason Hayward, David Burt and Jaché Adams were able to mingle with residents from their constituencies.
Mr Burt, the Premier, said: “The annual seniors tea is an opportunity to provide a space where seniors can connect, relax and enjoy themselves.
“It’s a chance to show our appreciation for their ongoing role in our community.”
Mr Adams, the Minister of Public Works, added: “Every year, our seniors look forward to this event, and it is great to give back to our seniors.
“I thank all of the volunteers who helped to make this a success.”
Mr Hayward, the Minister of Economy and Labour, said: “I’ve received great feedback from our seniors, who had an incredible time at this year’s tea.
“Our branches are looking forward to next year's event to make it even more rewarding for our cherished seniors.”
