Andrew Murdoch, the Governor, met with royalty this week in London — King Charles III and the Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Bermuda Regiment.

A spokeswoman said that the Governor, as Commander-in-Chief of the RBR, met the Duchess of Gloucester in Kensington Palace on Tuesday, when he provided her with an update on the RBR’s recent activities.

The Duchess has served as the Colonel-in-Chief for the RBR since 2006, and is a patron of the Masterworks Museum of Bermuda Art.

“The Governor also had a personal audience with His Majesty the King on June 4 in respect of his appointment as Governor of Bermuda,” the spokeswoman said.

“The meeting took place at Buckingham Palace, as confirmed by details in the Royal Circular.

“As it was a personal audience, the content and photo of the audience remains private.”
