A local charity has launched the first national survey for Bermuda’s LGBTQ+ community.

Every Bermudian and resident aged 18 and older who identifies as LGBTQ+, whether openly or not, is invited to complete the questionnaire conducted by Global Research in partnership with OutBermuda.

A statement said: “The survey explores experiences across areas of daily life, including safety and belonging, access to healthcare and mental health support, experiences in schools and workplaces, community connection and experiences of support or discrimination.

“The findings will help build a clearer picture of the realities LGBTQ+ people face and will be used to inform advocacy, strengthen programmes, support funding and guide policy conversations.”

Results will also shape OutBermuda’s manifesto and long-term vision.

Joshua Samuels, OutBermuda’s executive director, said: “This survey is about listening — it creates space for people to share their experiences in their own words, including those who have not always felt safe enough to be visible.”

Participants who enter an early competition draw can win a weekend stay at the Rosedon Hotel and prizes such as a weekend at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club in other optional draws.

Visit research.net/r/LGBTQPlusSurvey2026 to access the anonymous survey, which is also open to Bermudians living overseas.
