Habitat Bermuda to open new art gallery
Habitat for Humanity of Bermuda is opening a new art gallery to celebrate the talent and creativity of local artists.
It said the attraction at its shop Restore on King Street represents the charity’s “ongoing commitment to supporting Bermuda’s artistic community, providing a defined area where artists can showcase their work and connect with the public”.
The opening on March 26 will feature local artists Martin Hatfield, Eli Cedrone, Lee Petty, Stephen Card, Diana Amos, Sheilagh Head, Carmen DoMarco and Vivienne Gardner.
“Habitat is hopeful that with the addition of this dedicated gallery space that ReStore will once again attract art collectors and designers looking to enhance commercial and residential spaces with local art,” the charity said.
Andrew Murdoch, the Governor, is the special guest for the grand opening, set to run from 5pm to 7pm.
The charity said: “By launching the art gallery, Habitat for Humanity of Bermuda reinforces its dedication to both the arts and the mission of providing safe, affordable housing for those in need.”
Anyone interested in attending the opening should call 296-0256 or e-mail ccluetthabitatbermuda@gmail.com to RSVP.
