Caribbean Grand Prix makes welcome return after three-year hiatus
More than 100 local and international bodybuilders and fitness athletes will be going in search of professional status as the Caribbean Grand Prix returns to the Ruth Seaton James Centre on March 26.
The competition, which proved a major success when it was last held in 2019 – before being forced into a three-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic – gives athletes from anywhere in the world the opportunity of gaining their all-important pro status.
Among those hopefuls will be some of Bermuda’s best talent including Tashae Simmons. She got off to a sensational start in the sport, impressing the bodybuilding community, after winning the wellness open class and wellness overall class in her competitive debut at the Lee Haney Games NPC National Qualifier in the United States in November.
Simmons will be going for her pro status and all eyes are on her, as if she is successful, she will be the first Bermudian to go pro in such a short period of time.
Also participating is newcomer Jaydon Goddard, who will be excited about the opportunity to gain valuable performance experience at the start of his professional career in bodybuilding.
The event will also highlight various local businesses who focus on health and wellness by giving them the opportunity to set up stalls during the competition where they can promote their services and sell their products.
