Saltus Grammar remains unbeaten to win Middle School girls Volleyball Tournament
Saltus Grammar School went undefeated to win the Bermuda School sports Federation Middle School Volleyball tournament.
The girls in red defeated Warwick Academy 25-23 in a see-saw final which featured neither team being able to take a commanding lead at any point in the match.
Taurie Spencer from Warwick Academy had a run of serves which seemed to give Warwick a slight advantage in the match but Saltus managed to break and Evelyn Czember guided the Knights through with some great serving and court leadership to win the title.
Saltus defeated Mount Saint Agnes Academy 25-10 in the semi-final behind strong serving from Czember and Jada Tannock.
Warwick and Bermuda High School exchanged points early during their semi-final encounter but with the score nicely poised at 10-10, Nia Mullins from Warwick took over the match with her strong serving backed up by good work at the net to steer warwick to a 19-10 lead.
The match seemed to be well in hand before Katherine O’Keefe led a spirited comeback for BHS, but it wasn’t enough as Warwick held on to win 25-22.
