Flora Of Bermuda bounced back to form with a runner-up finish in a group two race at Doncaster Racecourse today.

The two-year-old filly by Dark Angel out of Dubai Power, and owned by Bermuda Racing Ltd, recovered well from being held up at the back of the eight-runner field of the Carlsberg Danish Pilsner Flying Childers Stakes over five furlongs.

She passed every rival in the final furlong and a half, but was no match for 9-4 paper favourite Big Evs, who blasted out of the gates and was never challenged in an imperious show of front-running in soft ground.

Flora Of Bermuda, who went off as 11-2 third favourite with regular jockey Oisin Murphy on board, was back to something approaching her best in the wake of her stamina being found wanting over six furlongs in good to firm conditions in the Sky Bet Lowther Stakes at York on August 24.

She broke her maiden at Goodwood on August 2 in the British EBF 40th Anniversary Alice Keppel Fillies' Conditions Stakes over five furlongs.
