Nominations welcomed for 43rd Annual Sports Awards

The nomination period for the 43rd Annual Sports Awards opens today, allowing the public to put forward their favourite local teams and athletes.

A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport said nomination forms are available online, with nominations accepted until the end of the year.

Owen Darrell, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, said: “The Annual Sports Awards offer a powerful platform to honour the incredible dedication and talent that drive Bermuda’s athletic community.

“We proudly celebrate those who inspire and uplift our nation, and we look forward to recognising their remarkable achievements and contributions.”

Categories include male and female athlete of the year, junior male and female athlete of the year, senior achievement, junior achievement, sport citation, special achievement, the appreciation award and team of the year.

The spokeswoman said: “The Annual Sports Awards are a key opportunity to recognise the dedication and talent within Bermuda’s sports community and celebrate those who inspire future generations.

“All nominees should have contributed to the sports landscape with integrity, excellence and passion.”
