Somersfield Academy win middle school netball tournament
Somersfield Academy edged BHS 6-5 in a thrilling final of the Bermuda School Sports Federation’s middle school netball tournament yesterday.
Milena Millett and Freida Valli scored three goals apiece for Somersfield, sealing the victory. Samantha Morgan netted three times for BHS, with Hailey Oduori adding two.
Both finalists caused upsets in the semi-finals, overcoming group winners to secure their spots in the decider.
Somersfield defeated Pool A winners Saltus 7-4, with Millett leading the charge with four goals and Valli contributing three. Saltus’s Zara Bule scored three goals, while Titiana Green added one.
BHS secured a dramatic 7-6 overtime win against Dellwood Middle School in the other semi-final, thanks to two crucial goals from Morgan, who finished with four. Oduori added three goals for BHS. Dellwood’s Sa-Qurity Warner was their top scorer with five goals, supported by Dani Brown with one.
