Dage Minors has been elected as the new chairman of the Bermuda Olympic Association’s Athlete Commission.

Minors, Bermuda’s premier middle-distance runner, will serve in the role until the Los Angeles Olympics, with triathlete Tyler Smith elected as vice chairman.

“I am excited to continue with the Commission and be the chair for this new Olympic cycle,” Minors said.

“I have a lot of confidence in the Commission and that we will continue to vouch for and represent our fellow athletes.”

The commission consists of athletes who have represented Bermuda during the last two Olympic cycles in any of the four major festivals that fall under the BOA umbrella; the Central American and Caribbean Games, the Commonwealth Games, the Pan American Games and the Olympic Games.

Joining Minors and Smith until 2028 are Olympians Adrianna Penruddocke (Sailing) and Emma Harvey (Swimming), along with national field hockey player Alyssa De Silva.

“We are looking forward to representing the athletes' voice to the BOA and delivering programmes both on island and abroad that can benefit former and future athletes,” Smith said.
