Y.E. Yang? Who's he?

South Korea's Y.E. Yang has completed this year's PGA Grand Slam elite foursome after a stunning victory over Tiger Woods to clinch the PGA title at Hazeltine.

Yang, who became the first Asian-born winner of a major championship, was two shots adrift of overnight leader Woods but held his nerve to card 70 to the American's 75 to win by three on the final green yesterday.

The 37-year-old's victory ends Woods' run of winning all 14 of his major titles when leading going into the final round.

Yang joins Lucas Glover, who held off Phil Mickelson to win the US Open, Argentina's Angel Cabrera, who won The Masters in a thrilling sudden-death play-off and Stuart Clink, of the US, who claimed victory in The Open as the four major winners to qualify for the Grand Slam.

Should a qualifier decline to attend the Grand Slam the foursome would be completed through the Major Champions Points List composed of past major Champions who compete in this year's majors.

Past PGA Grand Slam champions include Jim Furyk, Cabrera, Woods, Mickelson, Ernie Els, Tom Lehman, Ben Crenshaw and Greg Norman.

Premier Ewart Brown said last night: "With the eyes of the golfing world on Bermuda for two days in October, we hope the new Port Royal makes the same impression on all of them that it has made on all of us.

"Port Royal is now a world-class golf course and one of the finest public courses on the planet. I can't wait to see how she looks on television – particularly in Asia where I expect many will be watching Mr Yang."

This year's tournament, from October 20-21, moves to Port Royal Golf Course for the first time following a multi-million dollar reconstruction project.

The event will be aired on TNT TV, where it will be broadcast in prime time to more than 89 million US homes and to international audience of more than 100 countries
