PGA volunteers wanted
WANTED: Volunteers. Must like golf.
It's that time of year again, the call has gone out for people willing to work at the PGA Grand Slam to be held at Port Royal Golf Course in October.
Organisers need more than 250 volunteers in a variety of committees, assignments and positions.
Volunteer applications will be accepted starting Monday, with positions assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
Volunteer committees that need assistance include Admissions, Corporate Hospitality Services, Golf Carts, Marshals, Rope & Stakes, Signs, and Tee Refreshments.
Volunteers may sign up online by visiting the championship Web site at www.pgagrandslamofgolf.com, or they may request an application by calling (561) 624-8519. Once selected, volunteers will be required to contribute two of three days during October 19-21.
All Volunteers for the 2009 PGA Grand Slam of Golf will be required to pay a Volunteer Uniform fee of $50.
In return, each volunteer will receive a volunteer uniform (two golf shirts, shorts and headwear), a 27th PGA Grand Slam of Golf Championship Journal, food and drink vouchers for working shifts, complimentary off-site parking with shuttle service to the Championship and a Volunteer Credential, which can be used each day of the 2009 PGA Grand Slam of Golf.
