Turtle Hill links up with golf manufacturer
Bermuda’s Turtle Hill Golf Club is teaming up with a prominent golf manufacturer.According to a press statement released today, the Fairmont Southampton course will form a partnership with the Cleveland Golf/Srixon’s Wedge Fit Program with the aim of bringing more golf tourists to the Island.“Cleveland Golf/Srixon’s current promotion’s grand prize includes a three-night stay at The Fairmont Southampton, airfare for two, and a spot to compete in the 2014 Bacardi World Par 3 Championships with a brand-new set of Cleveland Clubs and Srixon Z-STAR Balls,” stated the release.“It is targeted at key gateway cities for Bermuda and is designed to stimulate interest in the destination, particularly over the winter months”Golf Director at Turtle Hill GC, Anthony Mocklow said he was thrilled with the coverage the promotion provides.“This partnership with Cleveland Golf/Srixon is a significant win for golf tourism in Bermuda, with hundreds of thousands of golfers being introduced to our unique golf destination and the fantastic Bacardi World Par-Championship at the Turtle Hill Golf Club.“2013 was the fourth year of the Championships . . . and with a record number of players and acclaim from international golfing legend, Tony Jacklin, the Turtle Hill Golf Club and Bermuda’s international golf profile is getting a tremendous boost.”To promote the Wedge Fit campaign, Cleveland Golf/Srixon are hosting up to 50 demo days a week, reaching about 750 golfers a week, said the company.“Since the partnership was launched on May 1, 2013, over 4,500 entries have been submitted for the Bermuda contest.“An estimated 10,000 US-based golfers have gone through the Wedge Fitting, receiving information about golf in Bermuda and that number will continue to grow throughout the length of the promotion. Korea, South Africa, and Australia will also be launching the promotion at different points during the year, and all markets are actively interested in the Bacardi World Par-3 Championships.”Turtle Hill GC has been recognised by Golf Magazine as one of the top five Par-3 courses in the world, is a recipient of Golf Digest’s Best Places to Play Golf Award and is the site of The Bacardi World Par 3 Championships.
