Sims shines on tour
After nine successive missed cuts, Bermudian golf pro Michael Sims has finally found his form on the Web.Com Tour.The 34 year-old moved up the leaderboard at the News Sentinel Open in Knoxville, Tennessee, finishing his third round in 14th position after a four-under-par 67 today.That followed two rounds of 69 on the Fox Den Country Club course, which was enough to make the cut.Today he put four birdies on his card, three of them on par-fives, offset by a single bogey.At the end of the day he was just five shots off the lead, held by Australian Aron Price who carded a seven-under 64.Sims has made only three cuts all season, his best finish a tie for ninth at he BWM Charity Classic where he pocketed $18,000.This weekend’s tournament is offering a $99,000 purse with $55,000 going to the winner.The tournament record (23 under par) is held by Tim Conley, a multiple winner in Bermuda.
