Jarryd Dillas won his fifth Bermuda Amateur Match Play Championship title with a convincing 5 and 4 win over Mark Phillips on Saturday.

Dillas, who won the title four times in succession up to 2013, was largely untroubled at Mid Ocean Club.

There was a shock in the women’s final, however, where Ebonie Burgess, bidding for a hat-trick of titles was beaten 1 up by Tariqah Walikraam.

In the men’s consolation final Spencer Wideman beat Jamie Macmillan 5 and 4, while Gray Yancey dispatched Terry Mullan 6 and 4 in the senior men’s final.

The senior men’s consolation final was a far closer affair with Jens Juul beating Bill Pitt 1, up, while Max Abend beat Geza Wolf by the same margin in the first flight consolation final.

In the first flight final Gary Brangman beat Ross Ballantyne 3 and 2.
