DeSilva keeps his cool at the death
Chaka DeSilva beat defending champion Dwayne Pearman in a sudden-death play-off to claim the Johnnie Walker Classic title at Ocean View Golf Course today.
The pair teed up on the par-three 18th hole to decide the tournament after both shot one-under-par 141 over 36 holes in the third annual event.
DeSilva drove his ball over the back of the green but had a fortunate bounce off the coral wall and landed on the back fringe of the green. The Bermuda Professional Golfers Association champion was then able to chip to within a foot of the pin and make his putt for par.
Pearman came up short and chipped a few feet beyond the hole and missed the putt coming back for a bogey.
In the Open Division, Mark Ray put on a fine show and won by one stroke over Damian Palanyandi, the defending champion. The Senior Division was also closely contested, with Jeffrey Lindo winning on a tie-break over Quinton Sherlock Sr.
