Located alongside the pristine turquoise ocean and historical forts on the northern side of St George’s, Bermuda’s newest golf course, Five Forts Golf Club, is set for a May 22 opening.

The newly designed course on the site of the old St George’s golf course is an 18-hole, newly reimagined course designed by world-renowned architect Robert Trent Jones Jr. It offers captivating ocean views from nearly all of its 18 holes.

“I look forward to giving our members and guests a luxe golf experience at this exquisite setting,” said January Vanhaelewyn, general manager of the St Regis Bermuda Resort.

“We are honoured to revive this boutique golf course, surrounded by Bermuda’s emblematic and historical forts along with spectacular ocean views. Our resort amenities, such as The St Regis bar, will only add to St George’s as a true golf destination.”

Named after the rich heritage of St George's, Five Forts Golf Club is surrounded by the five forts, including Bermuda’s most visited fort, Fort St Catherine, which is located just steps from The St Regis Bermuda Resort adjacent to the Fort St Catherine beach.

The tailored layout of the links brings a unique golf experience. Golfers tee off at Fort Victoria and throughout the 4,043-yard course will be captivated by the nature, ending with breathtaking ocean views at the 18th hole at Fort St Catherine. To ensure the exceptional service of The St Regis Bermuda Resort at the golf course, the state-of-the-art GPS golf carts will expedite services, no matter where you are on the golf course.

“The newest addition to our global golf portfolio offers destination golfers, St Regis Resort guests and residence owners, and our loyal Marriott Bonvoy members an opportunity to combine a world-class travel experience with great golf,” said Jim Keane, the senior director of golf operations and development planning at Marriott International.

“The restored Five Forts Golf Club at the St Regis Bermuda Resort is a special place, with its friendly hosts, unique layout, enhanced turf conditions, along with numerous short par-threes with incredible ocean views, this course will deliver a truly memorable golf experience for all.”

In celebration of the anticipated opening, Five Forts Golf Club invites golf enthusiasts to be the first to play with the 2021 Preview Local Resident Membership programme, a limited offer exclusively for members.
