Another rocky start for Daniel Augustus
Daniel Augustus’s indifferent form of late continued yesterday on the APGA Tour in Scottsdale, Arizona.
The 33-year-old blew hot and cold on the way to an opening five-over 75 at the TPC Scottsdale Champions Course.
Augustus got off to a poor start as he was five over by the turn, having carded three bogeys and a double bogey at the par-five 9th.
However, as was the case during last week’s second round of the Pros Fore Pros Tour at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Nevada, he managed to steady the ship coming in.
Augustus played the back nine at even par having carded the only two birdies of his round at the par-three 15th and par -five 17th.
He is tied for 43rd among a field of 63 heading into today’s final round of the 36-hole championship.
Ryan Alford shot a six-under 65 to take a one-stroke lead over Marcus Byrd.
Nyasha Mauchaza is a further shot back in third.
Augustus has been competing recently on both the APGA Tour and Pros Fore Pros Tour, where he finished tied for 36th at five-over 221 at the Boulder Creek Golf Club in Nevada last Friday.
