Damian Palanyandi and Kim Botelho aiming to defend Bermuda Stroke Play titles

Damian Palanyandi

Damian Palanyandi will be battling with 18 other golfers in the men’s division as he looks to defend his title in the Bermuda Stroke Play Championships, which start tomorrow at Port Royal Golf Course.

Palanyandi won last year by five strokes over Eric West, the 2020 champion, while Scott Barnett finished third. Neither are in the field this weekend.

Kim Botelho is hoping to defend her women’s title after a comfortable seven-stroke victory over Tracy Nash in 2021. Tracy Burgess, the defending senior women’s winner, is in a small women’s field.

The championships will be taking place from tomorrow to Sunday, with a senior men’s champion also being crowned on the weekend. Arthur Jones is the defending champion after his five-stroke win over Hav Trott last year. Trott will be one of the challengers for the crown.
