Promising golfers Dylan Muso, Arman Newton and Lewis MacFarlane will make history when they tee off at the Caribbean Amateur Junior Golf Championships in St Catherine, Jamaica.

The trio are the first locals to compete in the event since the Bermuda Golf Association recently acquired Caribbean Golf Association associate member status.

Muso will put his skills to the test competing in the under-18 division, Newton in the under-15 division and MacFarlane, the youngest member of the local contingent at 11, in the under-13 division.

The trio will be accompanied in Jamaica by BGA general secretary Darrin Lewis, who says the players are looking forward to competing at this level.

“This will be a magnificent opportunity for the boys to gauge where they are in their age groups in our region,” he said.

“This is Bermuda’s first representation as part of being accepted as an associate member of the Caribbean Golf Association and the boys are really excited and raring to go!”

The Caribbean Amateur Junior Championships will be held at the Caymanas Golf Club from July 1 to 6.
