Dylan Muso wins on junior golf tour in Florida
Dylan Muso underlined his potential after securing a maiden win on the Claret Junior Golf Tour in the Eagle Ridge Golf Club Fall Challenge in Florida.
Making only his second appearance on the tour, the young Bermudian came out on top in a two-man play-off to clinch the boys 16-and-older division title after finishing regulation play tied at 12 over.
“My podium finish was a good experience,” Muso told The Royal Gazette. “I didn’t play the best golf but still managed to hold it together and win in the first play-off hole.”
The former Mount Saint Agnes Academy student shot 80 in the first round and followed up with a 76 in the second before prevailing on the first extra hole.
“The conditions were pretty difficult with some wind and the fairways being overseeded,” Muso said.
“But I went into the tournament with confidence and was able to stay calm during the whole tournament and pull it off.”
The podium finish was the Mike Bender Golf Academy student’s second in a row after he placed third in his division on his tour debut in the Mission Inn Junior Challenge Tournament at the Mission Resort and Club in Florida last month.
The Claret Junior Golf Tour offers junior golfers the opportunity to learn and improve through playing ranked and affordable competitive golf at great venues.
As well as the Claret Junior Golf Tour, Muso also competes on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour, with his best showing to date fifth at the Disney LBV Junior Open at Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, last year.
