Adam Perry, Quinton Sherlock Jr and Scott Roy have a chance to bag $15,000 when they join 18 overseas competitors for the Butterfield Bermuda APGA Championship to be held at Port Royal Golf Course next week.

The trio secured their spots through the Local Qualifier in September, and have a chance to earn exemption into the 2025 Butterfield Bermuda Championship and get a share of a purse of $60,000, the fourth largest on the APGA Tour.

The event, sponsored by the Bermuda Tourism Authority, Butterfield Bank, Pompano Beach Club, and Life and Annuity Services, will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday in conjunction with the Advocates Professional Golf Association and the PGA Tour.

Ken Bentley, the APGA Tour chairman, expressed his appreciation to the crew at the recently completed Butterfield Bermuda Championship and the BTA, for the role they play in the tournament’s success.

“In addition to offering our players the opportunity to compete, we are also excited to connect them with the PGA Tour and further our mission for equality and inclusion in such a beautiful location,” he said.

Last year, American Michael Herrera clinched the title by two shots in dramatic fashion to secure the sole spot up for this year's PGA Tour event. Nick Jones, who received $3,125 in prize money, was the best-performing Bermudian after finishing joint fifth with Baptiste Hakizimana, a United States-based Rwandan.

Also flying the island’s flag in the 21-player field were Chaka DeSilva and Arriek Douglas, a late replacement for amateur Jarryd Dillas.
